It’s hard to think it’s that time of the year, where networks start telling us what shows will be coming back and which ones are now getting the ax. In the past few years, CW has usually been the one to announce which shows sooner than the rest of the networks. And there’s a good reason they do this.
According to CW President Mark Pedowitz,
“Over the past several seasons, The CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes, to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas. Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
With that said here is the list of all the early renewals the network has given.
–Arrow (Season 6)
–The Flash (Season 4)
–Supergirl (Season 3)
–DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 3)
–Supernatural (Season 13)
–Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Season 3)
–Jane the Virgin (Season 3)
There are still a few shows on the network that remains on the bubble, such as this year’s midseason shows – The Originals, iZombie and The 100. It was announced a few months back that this season of Reign will be the last season. The two new shows that The CW tried this season Frequency and No Tomorrow will not be seeing another day.
